I should be writing Christmas cards, but can't get the week's events out of my mind: Rares J.'s judgement in the Ashby/Slipper case; the death of a nurse at King Edward VII Hospital, London, after she was caught up in a hoax by two Australian radio hosts; and the appalling shooting at a primary school in Connecticut.
To my mind, the best piece thus far on the Slipper case was Richard Ackland's searing piece in Friday's Sydney Morning Herald. http://www.smh.com.au/opinion/ashby-case-a-shocking-spectacle-20121213-2bcgg.html
